Bri and Damian's Timeless Summer Wedding at 4B Ranch: A Luxury Garden Party Celebration
Tears, laughter, a failed garter toss, crazy reception games that make you think “Is this safe?”, and a tree-canopied ceremony unlike any other.
Bri and Damian’s wedding was fun-filled in every sense of the word. From taking shots before the ceremony, to reception games that LITERALLY had me on the edge of my seat (well, more like standing on it because I couldn’t see over the chaos) it was the most beautiful celebration of their love and exuberant personalities.
The Moments Before: Getting Ready
The bride, Bri, and her girls were absolutely jammin’ when I arrived: music cranked, makeup scattered, the most iconic “a moment for the girls” kind of vibe. When the room finally cleared and it was time for the bride to slip on her dress, the music might’ve stopped, but the tears certainly didn’t. Bri shared with me prior that her dress was originally her mom’s dress that she wore at her own wedding. Bri had it tailored at Yen Kim’s Tailor where they stunningly altered the dress to fit Bri like a glove and highlight her own beauty. She and her mom shared a sweet moment, just taking in the day, the dress, absorbing the sea of emotions before the events of the day unfolded. Shortly after, the bride jokingly mentioning not wanting to cry anymore, her sister ushered her outside where they took in the beautiful landscape, the songs of the birds nearby, and then downed a shot together on the front porch: a magical moment dare I say. The fun doesn’t stop there; Bri opted for a first look, not with her groom, but rather with the groomsmen. You have to see their reactions; I made sure they knew there would be “consequences” if they did not deliver, needless to say… they. delivered.
A Texas Wedding Dream: Bri and Damian's Ceremony Among the Trees
Bri and Damian's wedding at 4B Ranch Wedding and Events was a picture-perfect Texas wedding consisting of big bouquets, lots of cowboy boots and hats, and of course that good ole Texas humidity. Humidity aside, though, the ceremony beautifully embodied the essence of a luxury summer wedding. Nestled among the trees, their outdoor ceremony provided a stunning natural backdrop, creating a timeless and romantic atmosphere. As a wedding photographer specializing in documentary style and fine art photography, capturing the raw, emotional moments was a true delight. Starting with Bri having her mom walk her down to the end of the aisle where both her dad and stepdad waited to give her away, together. Hugs, as well as tears, were exchanged and the emotions were tangible felt. Later, as Bri and Damian shared their unique and intentional wedding vows beneath the canopy of trees, and the tears just kept flowing. Thankfully, so did the laughter. From the first step down the aisle, to the first kiss as husband and wife, it was simply magical.
Garden Party Elegance: Rustic with a Twist
Following the heartfelt ceremony, Bri and Damian's guests were treated to an exquisite garden party-themed indoor reception. The décor, inspired by the lush beauty of an English garden, transformed the typically rustic venue into an enchanting space filled with elegant floral arrangements, colorful taper candles, twinkling fairy lights, and vintage table settings. This luxurious setup provided endless opportunities for capturing timeless, fine art photographs that will be cherished for generations, including the moment of the bride painting the groom’s face with frosting. Elegant indeed.
Garden Party Shenanigans: Wedding Reception Games
The reception game that followed required a shift from the luxurious reception space to an outdoor setting with some wiggle (more like running) room; things got a little wild. The groom shared that his family encouraged him to include a traditional Mexican wedding game called Vibora Del Mar that were sure to get the party started, and potentially end with someone in the hospital. The game consisted of both the bride and groom standing on separate chairs situated a few feet apart, holding the veil between them, while the bridal party supported them on the chairs. Why was support needed you might ask? Well, because the wedding guests (gentlemen first, ladies second) joined hands in a line resembling a snake, and then full speed sprinted through the space between the bride and groom’s chairs- trying to knock them over! I didn’t know if I was at a reception or a football game, but I was having the time of my life. The bride informed me that the purpose behind the game was for the bride and groom to never let go of the veil regardless of how hard they were hit, mirroring the challenges their marriage will face through life, but keeping to their commitment to one another through it all. A sweet sentiment for sure, but I was slightly terrified as I watched it transpire.
To end the night, Bri and Damian opted for a Bubble Exit where they ran through a tunnel of their favorite people: smiling, dancing, and kissing their way through an entourage of bubbles.
