Abi and Josh’s wedding was a celebration of love and natural beauty, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Lost Dutchman State Park. Nestled in the heart of Arizona’s Superstition Mountains - a picturesque location providing a stunning setting for their ceremony.
The Moments Before: Getting Ready
There wasn’t a dry eye from the moment the bride slipped into her stunning Luv Bridal dress and had her mom zip it up. Dad’s first look was precious and, wow, did the tears flow. Abi’s bridesmaids stood from afar to watch and everyone had to touch up their makeup afterwards. The bride opted for a slightly less emotional first look with her soon to be groom… Josh was positioned, eyes closed, heartbeat racing, waiting for his lady in white, and what he got, well, it wasn’t quite that. Moments before, Abi decided to shove the best man into a white dress and send him out first to her poor unsuspecting groom for a faux first look. Josh felt that tap on his shoulder, turning to see his beautiful bride for the first time that day, and instead he laid eyes on his meaty best man shoved into a dress 10 sizes too small for him. Their reactions were priceless (you’ll wanna scroll to see those photos), and Josh took it like a champ. After the fun, the bride followed suit (much more elegant than the first “bride” might I add), for the real first look, and to be expected, so did the tears. Private vows were then exchanged in the shade of the orange grove backing the bride’s home, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the day.
Ceremony at Lost Dutchman State Park:
The ceremony took place amidst towering saguaro cacti and panoramic desert views, at the base of the Superstition Mountains, creating a serene atmosphere that perfectly complemented Abi and Josh’s love. It was bright and joy filled, just as this sweet couple was; the sun seemed to highlight their love and set it ablaze like it was the mountains behind them. As it set behind us, I had the privilege of capturing their heartfelt commitment to one another and cherished moments against this iconic desert landscape.
Elegant Backyard Reception:
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to Abi’s beautifully landscaped backyard for an elegant reception under the stars. The intimate setting was adorned with twinkling lights, lush greenery, and beautiful floral centerpieces- reflecting the couple’s personal style and attention to detail. The bride handmade her wedding cake and it was simple, elegant, and one can assume it tasted just as good since the bride and groom shoved it in each other’s faces. From the first dance to heartfelt toasts, every moment was filled with joy, elegance, and everyone was simply taking it in- living in the moment. I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple, or a more perfect day.
